HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Riding a 10-game winning streak, the No. 6 UAH men's basketball team returns to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Thursday night when it welcomes Delta State for a 7:30 p.m. contest. The Chargers enter the game sitting at 19-3 (10-1 Gulf South Conference), while the Statesmen come to town with a 5-17 (1-10 GSC) mark.

The Chargers extended the long stretch of wins after picking up a pair of road victories on the Valdosta-to-Pensacola swing.

After those two games in which he was red-hot from downtown, Jaime Smith moved to No. 1 in the country in 3-point field goals made per game with 3.6 and third nationally in 3-point field goal percentage as he connects on his long-range attempts 51.3 percent of the time. The Blue and White now have two players leading the nation in statistical categories as Josh Magette continues to comfortably pace Division II with 9.6 assists per contest.

The game against West Florida came down to the wire as Srdjan Boskovic had to nail a pair of free throws with just five seconds remaining in the contest to give UAH an 80-78 victory. Smith led the Chargers with 27 points, including 22 in the second half as he helped the squad erase a nine-point halftime deficit.

Delta State travels to the Rocket City after falling to West Alabama its last time out 64-51 in Livingston. Aaron Cooper paced the Statesmen in that one as he scored 16, and he sits third on the team with 11.0 points per game. Terry Leake leads the way with 14.3 points per contest, while Marqueys Brown has a scoring average of 12.8 points.

When the teams met in Cleveland, UAH was an 84-68 winner as Smith scored 24 with Xavier Baldwin chipping in with 14 to lead a quartet of Chargers who scored in double figures, and Magette collected 12 assists. The victory pulled the Chargers closer to DSU in the all-time series as the Statesmen now hold a 13-8 edge against UAH.
