ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's track and field team concluded regular season competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday at the George C. Griffin Track and Field Facility.
Katelin Barber clocked a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 24.38 (2.6) in the 200 meters, finishing 18th overall. The time was just .04 seconds from her current season-best mark, and places her 28th nationally in the event.
In Friday's action, Barber highlighted the day for the Lady Chargers, clocking a NCAA provisional qualifying and season-best time of 11.85 (0.7) in the 100-meter prelims. She was just .06 seconds from advancing to Saturday's finals, but her time still moved her into a tie for the 17th-fastest time in the nation.
In the 1,500 meters, Gwen Gammon crossed the finish line in ninth place after turning in a time of 4:39.02.
Following this weekend's meet, the team will have a week off from competition before those that qualify will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo., on May 24-26.
