HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Looking to avenge an earlier loss, the No. 18 UAH men's basketball team is set to travel to Searcy, Ark., to take on Harding on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Chargers enter the contest with a 5-2 mark while Harding owns a 4-2 record on the year.
The contest marks the beginning of a five-game road trip for the Blue and White.
One of the four wins for the Bisons was a 65-63 decision at Spragins Hall on Nov. 28. In that contest, Weston Jameson scored 20 points to help guide HU to the upset victory, while
Jaime Smith matched him with 20 points to pace the Chargers.
Jameson tallied 18 of his points on the strength of six treys.
Josh Magette recorded a double-double in the loss as he scored 11 to go along with 11 assists.
The Birmingham, Ala., native has totaled 65 assists on the season to sit just 90 assists away from matching the Gulf South Conference record for helpers in a career, and Magette is one of three Chargers that is scoring in double figures as he averages 15.1 points per game.
Joining Magette is Smith who is scoring more than 19 points per contest, while
Zane Campbell has a scoring average of 15.1.
Bouncing back from the setback against Harding, UAH throttled Oakwood 98-69 this past Sunday. Smith led a group of five Chargers who scored in double figures in the contest as he also scored 20 in that game.
Harding lost its last time out to Christian Brothers by a 72-60 score, and the Bisons are led by Scott Deantra who has averaged 14.5 points per contest while coming off the bench in all six games. He also paces the team by grabbing six boards per game.
