HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team will take on Shorter University Tuesday night at Spragins Hall, as they look to gain momentum down the stretch of the season heading into the postseason.
The Lady Chargers (10-18, 4-9 GSC) were downed by North Alabama and Palm Beach Atlantic over the weekend, both by a 3-0 score. UAH will have another tough test Tuesday, when a very hot Shorter squad comes to Huntsville.
The Hawks (18-5, 8-4 GSC) have won five straight matches, including wins over West Georgia and West Alabama.
UAH has already qualified for the GSC Tournament to be held on November 16 and 17, because West Alabama has wrapped up their conference season with a 3-13 record, UAH can do no worse than 4-12.
The Lady Chargers will be the No. 6 seed and travel to Pensacola, Florida, as West Florida has already won the regular season championship. Who they will play in the first round is yet to be determined.
Haley Snyder and
Kendall Knisley will look to build off a strong week, as they both finished with 22 kills and combined for seven blocks.
Shorter has been led by Jasmine Crook, who is averaging 3.86 kills per set.
Fans are encouraged to follow the Chargers on Facebook (facebook.com/uahchargers) and on Twitter (@uahchargers), and supporters of the Blue and White may sign up for text and e-mail updates at uahchargers.com.
