HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team will step outside of the GSC on Tuesday night, as they play host to Stillman College in nonconference action.
The Lady Chargers (6-6, 1-2 GSC) defeated GSC-foe West Alabama on Saturday in dramatic fashion. UAH fell behind two sets to none and looked completely lost. They then stormed back to take down the Tigers in three straight sets and pick up their first GSC victory in five sets.
Now UAH will play host to Stillman College, members of the SIAC. Stillman holds a record of 8-9 on the season and this will be their first and only match against a Gulf South Conference school.
The Lady Chargers are 2-0 this season against teams from the SIAC, having knocked off Albany State in four sets and Paine in three.
UAH is 4-1 at home this season, while Stillman is 2-0 in true road games. The Tigers also play at Fisk on Monday night in Nashville, Tennessee, before traveling to Huntsville on Tuesday.
The Lady Chargers hope to receive some more dominant play from
Stacey Sargent and
Kelsey Williams, who both played outstanding in Saturday's win.
Head Coach
Laura Taube will also look for
Erin Keeney,
Haley Snyder and
Angela Thurmond to step up defensively.
The match is set to start at 6:00 p.m. in Spragins Hall.
