Box Score ROME, Ga. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell 3-1 on Tuesday night at the hands of Shorter University in Gulf South Conference road action.
The Lady Chargers (6-9, 3-4 GSC) lost in four sets to the host Hawks (8-5, 4-3 GSC) with scores of 23-25, 25-19, 22-25 and 17-25. UAH won the second set and tied the match at 1-1, but couldn't rally in the third and fourth sets to pick up an important conference win.
Olivia Bauman again the Lady Chargers in kills with 15, but the team only hit .160 collectively.
Ashton Baker notched another double-double with 22 digs and 31 assists.
In the second-set victory for UAH, the team won six out of eight sets after leading 15-14 midway through the match.
Stacey Sargent serviced three points, while Bauman and
Kendall Knisley each picked up a kill during the run.
The Lady Chargers fell behind 2-1 after they couldn't pick up some key points late in the set. UAH trailed by one point at 23-22, but Shorter picked up the next two points to pick up the set win.
Knisley hit a team-high .304 with nine kills and three block assists.
Stacey Sargent recorded 30 digs on the back line for UAH.
Shorter was led by Jasmine Crook and Elizabeth Dowd who each recorded double-doubles in the match.
The Blue and White return to the court this Friday, Oct. 11, when they visit Lee. First serve is at 7 p.m.
