About the Lady Chargers
COACHING THE CHARGERS: A new leader was hired to lead the UAH volleyball program on Jan. 9, 2013, as Keith Giboney comes to the Rocket City from Harding University in Arkansas. Giboney compiled an astonishing 337-112 record while coaching the Lady Bisons, including four NCAA Tournament appearances and six GSC championships.
Â
SENIOR LEADERSHIP: The Lady Chargers will lean on senior Stacey Sargent, who earned Second Team All-GSC honors last season after leading the team in service aces and digs. The native of Huntsville played all over the court in 2012, wearing the libero uniform while also performing well as an outside hitter.
Â
ROAD WARRIORS: UAH will play nine of its first 10 matches away from Spragins Hall. The team opens up with the HSU Classic this weekend, and then travels to North Carolina for the Mount Olive College Inviational next weekend. Sandwiched in between will be the 2013 home opener against cross-town rival Alabama A&M.
