Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team dropped a conference game at West Alabama on Tuesday night, falling 63-53 at Pruitt Hall. The Chargers slip to 13-11 (9-8 Gulf South Conference), while UWA improves to 15-8 (12-5 GSC).
On the strength of a 6-for-10 performance from the field,
Seab Webster lead UAH with 17 points as he connected on three 3-pointers, and
Wayne Dedrick joined him in double figures with 15 points.
The difference in the game came at the charity stripe where UAH went 8-for-14 compared to a 17-for-22 night for the hosts. The Chargers shot 40.4 percent for the night from the field while playing strong defense that limited West Alabama to a shooting percentage of 32.8 percent.
Desmond Raymond led the Tigers with 19 points while Lleon Tillman notched a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds to help UWA outrebound the Chargers by a 39-34 margin.
UAH held the first lead of the contest, leading 10-7 at the 13:55 mark of the opening half before UWA went on a 10-0 run over nearly five minutes that allowed the hosts to take a 17-10 lead with just over nine minutes remaining until the half, and West Alabama would lead at the break by a 23-20 margin after UAH scored seven of the final eight points of the period.
The advantage for UWA would grow to as many as 11 in the second half, and the visitors would be able to pull no closer than four down the stretch.
Concluding the three-game road swing, UAH will return to action on Saturday at Lee. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. CST.
