PHOTOSHUNTSVILLE | Playing its first game since debuting at No. 3 in the NCAA South Region rankings, The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team defeated visiting Montevallo at Charger Park on Wednesday night by a 3-0 score. The Chargers improve to 10-4-0 with the victory, while UM slips to 5-8-1.

The win also marks the 15th in a row for UAH at Charger Park. Three Chargers recorded multi-point performances led by
Hermann Bjornsson and
James Ballamy who both logged a goal and an assist, while
Jordan Wright assisted on a pair of UAH scores.

With his performance, Wright padded his point-lead for the Chargers, moving to 32 on the season. Bjornsson now has 17 points for the year with six goals and five assists, while Ballamy notched his fifth goal of the year to sit on 11 points.

The scoring for the Chargers started at the half-hour mark when Wright and
Leo De Smedt assisted on
Daniel Buchanan's third goal – all game-winners – of the season, and that 1-0 advantage for the home side would stand through the halftime break and up to the 68th minute.

In the 68th, Ballamy and Wright picked up helpers on Bjornsson's score, and Ballamy iced the game in the 89th on his strike that was assisted by Bjornsson.

UAH could have potentially won by a larger margin but had two goals that were disallowed.

For the contest, the Chargers outshot the visiting side by a 17-6 margin, and UAH also held a 7-4 advantage in corners on the night.

UAH will take the rest of the week off and is slated to return to Charger Park on Tuesday when Concordia Alabama visits for a 6 p.m. match.
