FLORENCE, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville fell to rival North Alabama on Thursday evening by a score of 3-1 (16-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-27) in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH slips to 18-12 (9-8 GSC), while UNA improves to 21-6 (14-2 GSC).

Haley Snyder and freshman Anna Leduc paced the Chargers offense with 10 kills apiece on Thursday, with Snyder leading the roster with a .276 swing rate. Freshman
Haley Hop totaled a team-high 19 digs – her highest total in 20 matches – while
Kirsten Giles recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 11 digs.
North Alabama took an early lead in the second rivalry matchup of the 2015 season, winning the initial set 25-16 before the Chargers evened the match at 1-1 with a 26-24 victory in the second frame. UAH overcame an early 17-14 deficit in the second to tie the contest, with
Rachel Brugman pacing the offensive effort with four kills.
The Lions regained the match lead at 2-1 with a 25-22 victory in the third frame, despite the Blue and White knotting the game 22-22 prior to three consecutive kills by UNA for the 25-22 victory in the stanza.
A late 3-0 run by the Chargers would force extra points with a 25-25 tie in the fourth set, before the Lions notched the final two points for the 25-17 win in the frame and a 3-1 match victory. LeDuc, Snyder and
Lorah Yonce each had three kills in the final stanza of the evening.
The Chargers look ahead to a pair of matches on Saturday against Mississippi College and Kentucky State at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, at Spragins Hall. A Senior Day ceremony is slated for Saturday as well.
