HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team topped Colorado College 2-1 in the non-conference series finale at the Von Braun Center on Saturday night to finalize the 2015 calendar year's slate. UAH improves to 4-12-2, while CC dips to 4-16-0.

After a scoreless opening period that featured 13 saves by UAH starting goalie Matt Larose, Colorado College was able to break the scoreless tie just 19 seconds into the second frame with a goal by Sam Rothstein.

The Chargers bounced back later in the second with Adam Wilcox's second goal – a redirected tally off a shot by Jack Prince – of the series coming on a power play at 8:34. Both Prince and freshman Jetlan Houcher were credited with helpers on the play.

Near the end of the second period, Hans Gorowsky received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for checking from behind, but the Chargers were able to stave off the CC man-advantage to keep the game tied 1-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Sophomore Richard Buri was then able to net the game-winning goal at 2:56 of the third period, which was his first marker of the 2015-16 season. Buri was assisted by Brennan Saulnier and Frank Misuraca on the tally.

Larose's record improved to 2-4-0 on the campaign, after stopping 35 of 36 Colorado College shots and holding the Tigers scoreless in five power-play opportunities.

The Chargers totaled 33 shots on goal in the contest, led by Max McHugh with four shots on target. Defensively, Brandon Parker posted a season-best seven blocks, followed by Misuraca's six.

UAH returns to action early in the New Year with the program's second-ever trip to Grand Forks, North Dakota to take on UND on Jan. 1-2.
