HOUGHTON, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team was eliminated from the WCHA playoffs with a 3-0 loss to No. 4 Michigan Tech on Saturday night in game two of the three-game series at MacInnes Student Ice Arena. UAH finishes the season with an 8-26-4 record, while MTU moves on the WCHA Final Five.
Sophomore goalie 
Carmine Guerriero had another strong outing on Saturday, after backstopping UAH with a WCHA-record 76 saves in the three-overtime opener on Friday. Guerriero finished with 42 saves to give him a total of 118 in the playoff series.
Guerriero finishes the 2014-15 campaign with a .928 save percentage and 2.56 goals against average, which rank fourth and fifth in program history, respectively. His career save percentage moved up to .918 this season, good for second all-time for the Chargers.
Michigan Tech saw a good deal of success on the power play on Saturday, as two of its three tallies came with the man advantage. Blake Hietala kicked off the scoring effort at 14:35 of the first, followed by Tanner Kero at 4:43 of the middle period. Both scores came on a power-play opportunity.
The Huskies scoring effort capped off with a goal by Mark Auk at 5:45 of the third period to bring the contest to its 3-0 final.
UAH totaled 18 shots on goal on Saturday night, led by UAH points leader 
Max McHugh with three shots on target.
The Chargers received noted attention throughout the second year with head coach 
Mike Corbett at the helm, including three WCHA Rookie of the Week awards, one NCAA Second Star recipient, College Hockey News' team of the week feature, and one WCHA All-Rookie honoree. The Chargers notched five home wins this season, the most of any season since the 2006-07 campaign.
