LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The 10th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team ended the regular season in emphatic fashion on Sunday, blowing past West Alabama 11-0 in five innings on the road. UAH improves to 37-12 and finishes the season with a 23-8 mark in Gulf South Conference play, while UWA ends the season at 19-26 (11-21 GSC).

The Chargers will now turn their attention to the upcoming GSC tournament where the team has secured the No. 2 seed. The tournament begins Thursday at Valdosta State, and UAH will take on the winner of the 3/6 game at 2 p.m. CDT.

On Sunday,
Emily Glover tossed her sixth complete game of the season in the circle while earning her first shutout of the year. Surrendering just three hits, the sophomore retired 11 consecutive UWA batters to end the contest.

The only run that the visitors would need came in the first when
Brianna Sullivan scored from third after
Kaitlyn Bannister stole second, resulting in a throwing error that permitted Sullivan to score, and a similar play resulted in
Victoria Crumpton scoring to start a four-run inning in the second.

The 5-0 lead for the Chargers continued until the fourth when UAH plated a run prior to busting the game complete wide open by sending 11 batters to the plate in a five-run fifth frame to grab the 11-0 advantage that led to the game ending early.

Sullivan had the team's best day at the plate, going 3-for-4 while driving in three runs and scoring four times en route to pushing her average back over .400 for the season at .404.

Helping UAH outhit the Tigers 12-3,
Victoria Frith and Bannister recorded a pair of hits to help the Chargers record a hit in eight of the nine positions in the lineup, and Frith and Crumpton both scored twice.

With Sullivan and Frith both swiping a pair, the Chargers stole eight bases on the day, and the team closes out the regular season with 157 steals.
