MARQUETTE, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team completed the WCHA series sweep at Northern Michigan on Saturday night by a final score of 3-1 at the Berry Events Center. UAH improves to 7-11-2 (7-7-2 WHCA), while NMU dips to 4-14-2 (2-11-1 WCHA).

Turning Point
- After a scoreless first period, the Chargers posted two quick goals early into the second frame by
Regan Soquila at 4:44 and Huntsville native
Josh Kestner at 6:10 en route to the 3-1 victory.

- Defense reigned supreme in the opening period as both squads would take a scoreless tie into first intermission, with UAH putting six shots on goal and NMU notching seven shots on net in the initial 20 minutes of play.
- However, UAH broke the scoreless tie on a marker by Soquila at 4:44 on the power play with assists coming from
Brennan Saulnier and
Jordan Larson.
- Less than 90 seconds passed until the Chargers took a 2-0 lead as Kestner wristed the puck past NMU goalie Atte Tolvanen at 6:10, thanks to helpers from
Tyler Poulsen and
Cody Champagne.
- Northern Michigan was able to cut into the UAH lead later on in the second at 14:41 by Troy Loggins to slim the Charger lead to 2-1.
- Both squads again played stout defense throughout the majority of the third period, but junior
Brandon Parker delivered a power-play goal at 15:53 to extend the UAH lead to the eventual 3-1 final score.
- Junior
Jordan Uhelski improves to 5-4-2 in net after posting 23 saves and allowing one goal in the finale, while holding NMU scoreless in three power-play chances.
- The Chargers totaled 21 shots on goal in the contest, led by Saulnier with four shots on net.
- UAH went 2-for-6 on the power play on Saturday, which was the third time this season UAH has two or more power-play markers.

- First time UAH has won four consecutive road games and registered three road series sweeps since the 2004-05 season.
- The Chargers six road victories are the most since the squad went 7-9-2 in 2009-10.
- UAH's sweep-clinching win gives the Chargers a program-best three WCHA series sweeps and the first when visiting Northern Michigan.
- After gaining six WCHA points on the weekend, UAH now owns a program-best 23 league points with the previous best coming in the 2015-16 season with 16 points on a 5-17-6 WCHA record.
- Kestner finished with four points for the first time this season in a weekend series after posting two goals and two assists against the Wildcats.
- Parker has a goal in four of the last five games.
