UAH Battles Tough in 2OT Setback to No. 25 Lynn

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team fell in a heartbreaker to No. 25 Lynn, dropping a 2-1 decision in double overtime. The Chargers fall to 0-2-0 on the year, while the Fighting Knights improve to 3-0-0.

Turning Point
-In the 103rd minute, Jack Watson headed the ball in for his fifth goal of the season to lift Lynn to the victory in the second period of extra time. The score marked his fifth of the season and was assisted by Dominic Docherty. UAH had tied the contest earlier to force overtime when Khalil Bell scored in the 81st minute to level the contest at 1-1.

Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers held Lynn at bay through the first 44 minutes of the contest, but the Fighting Knights were awarded a penalty kick in the 44th minute and then capitalized as Alun Webb buried to lift Lynn to a 1-0 lead.
-The score remained 1-0 until Hermann Bjornsson's attempt on goal deflected right to the feet of Bell who then buried it to level the contest late in the proceedings.
-Shots on goal in the contest were even at 5-5 with the visiting side holding a 12-9 advantage in overall shots.
-Myles Fullen made three saves in goal for UAH in the setback.
-Bjornsson was matched by Corentin Diverres Bell as the trio all notched two shots in the game.

Noteworthy
-Bell played a team-high 68 minutes off the bench after playing 30 minutes against Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night.
-A total of 17 fouls were whistled in the contest with five cautions being issued including four to the Fighting Knights.

Next Time Out
-The Chargers return to action on Thursday when the squad hits the road for the first time in 2016 when UAH ventures to future GSC member Montevallo for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
