Johnson Eclipses 1000 Career Kills in Friday Matches

HOOVER, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell in two matches to start the South Region Crossover at the Hoover Met Finley Center on Friday afternoon to Rollins by a 3-1 final (22-25, 20-25, 25-19, 24-26) and to No. 4 Palm Beach Atlantic by a score of 3-0 (23-25, 22-25, 14-25). Turning Point
- After UAH forced a fourth set with a 25-19 win in the third frame, Rollins sealed its 3-1 victory over the Chargers after scoring the final two points of the match in the 26-24 edging in the fourth.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Anna Claire Johnson paced the UAH attack with 19 kills against the Tars, followed by Anna LeDuc with 16 kills on a .303 hitting percentage.
- Isabelle Barnes led all UAH attackers with 15 or more attacks with a .533 hitting percentage on eight kills, followed by LeDuc's .303 swing rate.
- Kirsten Giles notched a double-double with a total of 49 assists and 13digs in addition to five kills and a .364 hitting percentage.
- Haley Hop paced the Chargers defense with 21 digs, with Giles and Lorah Yonce following with 13 scoops and 10 digs, respectively.

- Palm Beach Atlantic pulled ahead early with a 25-23 win in the first and a 25-22 win in the second, and went on to take the match in three sets with a 25-14 victory in the third.

- Anna Claire Johnson posted a team-best seven kills in the contest, followed by Anna LeDuc and Jordan Grammer with six successful swats apiece.
- Grammer had a team-best .385 hitting percentage amongst Chargers with 10 or more attacks.
- Kirsten Giles registered a double-double in the contest with 13 assists and 10 digs.
- Haley Hop led the defense with 14 digs while also registering a team-best three service aces.
