CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team blew past host Delta State by a 4-0 score on Sunday, pushing its single-season conference unbeaten streak to a program-best six games. The Chargers improve to 5-4-2 (4-0-2 Gulf South Conference), while DSU drops to 2-9-1 (0-8-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-The Chargers quickly jumped ahead in the contest as
Gunnar Birgisson scored in the seventh minute to put the guests up 1-0, and the team built up a 2-0 lead in the 24th when
Khalil Bell fed it to
Corentin Diverres who tapped it in for the score.
-After the game went into the half with UAH leading 2-0, the Chargers earned a corner to start the second half and immediately went up by three as the kick from Diverres was headed in by
Shane Woodruff in the 46th.
-Bell then produced the eventual 4-0 final when he went 1-on-1 with the keeper and beat him for the game's final score.

-UAH established a wide 19-7 advantage in shots and also held a 9-3 difference in attempts that were on target, and the team earned 13 corners to just one for Delta State.

Deivi Bucio led the team with four shots, while both
Clay McDonald and Woodruff put a team-high two shots on target.

Myles Fullen earned the win in goal for the Chargers as he stopped a pair of shots, and
Gabriel Chilas also posted a save as the pair combined for the shutout.

ÂÂ-The Chargers have previously had three unbeaten streaks of five games in length, performing that feat in 2015, 2009, 2000, and 1999.
-Dating back to last season, UAH has not lost a conference match in its past eight GSC games which is the second-longest in program history as the program began GSC play by going 9-0-1 combined in the 1996 and 1997 seasons.
-The Chargers now have three clean sheets in GSC action while allowing just four goals in the six games.
-Diverres ties for the team lead in points with his three-point day giving him three goals and five assists on the season to total 11 points.
-The score for Bell represents his third of the season, while both Birgisson and Woodruff now both have two on the year.
-The 19 shots taken by the Chargers represents a season-high for UAH and is the team's highest total since taking 22 at Spring Hill on Oct. 23 of last season.
