LAST WEEK: UAH opens the week with a 13-7 record and a 4-3 mark within the Gulf South Conference after a loss at home to Lee by a 3-1 score on Tuesday prior to a 3-0 win for the Chargers in a trip to Auburn Montgomery on Friday.
GSC UPDATE: The Chargers currently stand in a three-way tie for fifth in the league standings with Shorter and Valdosta State who also have 4-3 GSC records. West Florida (7-0 GSC) remains atop the conference, followed by North Alabama (6-1 GSC) in second, West Alabama (4-1 GSC) in third and Lee (5-3 GSC) in fourth.
UPCOMING SLATE: The Blue & White are set for six matches in the coming week beginning with a trip to Birmingham, Alabama, to play matches against Miles and Talladega on the MC campus. The Chargers will return to the Magic City this weekend to participate in three matches in the South Region Crossover, which features both Gulf South Conference and Sunshine State Conference programs.
CHASING A MILESTONE:
Anna Claire Johnson enters the week's slate just 11 kills away from 1000 in her career as she's totaled 989 so far in her time with the Chargers. This season, Johnson leads the offense with 132 kills and a 2.36 kills per set average.
ON THE BLOCK:
Caroline Sanford has totaled at least one total block in 13 consecutive matches, which includes a total of eight total blocks in two matches this past week. Sanford paces the squad this season 57.0 total blocks and 1.14 blocks per set, ranking in the top four in the conference in both statistical categories.
GOLDEN BEARS PROFILE: Miles enters Monday's matchup with a 4-13 overall and a 2-9 SIAC record, following four losses and one win at the SIAC Western Cluster at Central State this past weekend. UAH is 4-0 all-time against Miles.
TORNADOES PROFILE: Talladega opens the week with a 6-11 overall record. Monday's contest will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
