UAH Completes Series Sweep of Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team completed the Gulf South Conference series sweep of Christian Brothers with a 9-0 victory in five innings on Sunday afternoon. UAH improves to 16-5 (7-2 GSC), while CBU slips to 4-15 (0-8 GSC).
 
Game-Changer
- Both Brooke Miller and Ashley Cornell paced the UAH offense going 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBI each, with Miller recording one of the two homers by the Chargers in the series clinching win.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Hannah Murray dominated on the mound with 5.0 shutout innings in the start on Sunday, while posting two strikeouts and not issuing a walk. Murray improves to 1-0 on the mound with the win.
- UAH opened the game with a six-run rally in the first to lead 6-0, highlighted by Miller's two-run home run and Cornell's two-run triple.
-  The Chargers added two more runs in the second as Wascavage ripped a RBI double down the line prior to scoring on a CBU fielding error two at-bats later.
- A solo home run by Shannon Long in the top of the third gave the game its 9-0 final and a series sweep for UAH.
- UAH totaled eight hits in the win, led by Bannister with a pair of base knocks.
