CLINTON, Miss. | The No. 16 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team bounced back from a 1-0 setback in Saturday's first game in a big way with a 9-2 victory in the nightcap to avoid a series sweep at Mississippi College. The Chargers move to 32-13 (18-9 Gulf South Conference) with the split on Saturday, while the Choctaws go to 27-17 (18-9 GSC).

With two weeks of conference play left in the regular season, West Florida is in first by a single game ahead of four teams tied for second: UAH, Lee, Mississippi College, and Valdosta State.

-After the first three batters in the bottom of the seventh reached to load the bases and with two outs after
Emily Glover induced an out on a fielder's choice and a strikeout, an error on a ball put in play by MC's Haley  Thompson allowed the winning run to score in the pitcher's duel.

-Glover was charged with the tough-luck loss, going the 6.2 innings while allowing just three hits and working around three walks while striking out five, while Adrianna Morgan also allowed three hits, struck out five, and issued a walk.

-The home run for Bannister is her 15th of the season, and in snapping a five-game streak in which she had not drove in a run, she logs her 54th RBI on the year.
-The grand slam is the second of Glover's career and the first since her freshman season when she hit one in the first inning of a 12-3 rout at Valdosta State.
