UAH Notches Three-Set Win Saturday over Christian Brothers

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-15, 25-23) over Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in a Gulf South Conference meeting. UAH improves to 21-9 (9-5 GSC), while CBU dips to 12-17 (3-10 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- The Chargers turned in a pair of dominant performances in the first and second sets with team hitting percentages of .300 or higher in each frame, which gave UAH wins of 25-21 and 25-15, respectively, on the way to the three-set victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Isabelle Barnes paced the Chargers offense with a team-high 14 kills and a .591 hitting percentage. Barnes also chipped in two total blocks, two assists and four digs.
- Seniors Anna LeDuc and Lorah Yonce finished tied for second on the roster with seven kills apiece.
- Sabrina Duncan registered a team-high 29 assists in the win, while finishing fourth on the roster with six kills on a .500 hitting percentage.
- Haley Hop anchored the defense with 11 digs against CBU, followed by Abby Brooks with 10 scoops.
- Duncan and Caroline Sanford tied for the team lead in blocks with four total blocks apiece.
- UAH hit .320 for the match, while limiting CBU to a .213 hitting percentage as a team.
- Six Chargers had at least four digs.

- Barnes' .591 hitting percentage is her highest in GSC play this season.
- Duncan's six match her season-high, which has been accomplished three times in 2018.
- UAH has 20 or more wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2004-05 and 2005-06.
