HUNTSVILLE | The No. 16 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep of Lee on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park, winning 3-2 in the series opener before securing an 11-6 victory in the nightcap. UAH improves to 19-6 (7-1 Gulf South Conference) while pushing its winning streak to seven games, and the Lady Flames slip to 10-13 (1-6 GSC).

Ashley Cornell had a big one early as her two-run single in the top of the first proved to be a key difference in the ballgame.

-After Akles stranded a pair of runners in the top of the first, UAH got on the board in the bottom half as Cornell drove in Malone and Booker who had reached earlier in the inning.
-An error in the bottom of the second on a double steal in the bottom of the second led to UAH's third run as Wascavage stole third and scampered home on a miscue but the Lee catcher to make it 3-0.
-The score remained that way until the seventh when a two-run, two-out single for the Lady Flames made it a 3-2 game before Uhlman entered the contest and got the last out.
