HUNTSVILLE | The 10th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team cruised past visiting Miles on Wednesday, winning 19-3 and 17-2 to sweep the doubleheader. UAH improves to 28-8, while Miles falls to 5-25.

-The Chargers had three home runs with Kelly Ann Sanders, Akles, and Mallard all hitting long flies, while Amber Hammonds tripled. Nutt and Wascavage both doubled twice, while Booker and Cornell also had a two-bagger.

-After Miles scored a pair in the first, UAH answered with four of its own in the bottom frame followed by eight more in the bottom of the second to go up 12-1.
-Miles picked up its third run in the top of the third, but the Chargers would score six in the home half and added the 19th with a single score in the fourth.

-Eight Chargers logged at least one RBI with Jada Hayes leading the way with five including four on one swing of the bat as she belted a grand slam, while Akles had three along with Jacobs and Jade Thomas who drove in a pair.
-Nine players also scored with Booker's three pacing the team, and each of Hayes, Akles, Nutt, Cornell, and Reagan Malone scored twice.
-Gracie Deaton picked up the victory in the circle, going three innings while scattering four hits and two runs of which just one was earned.
-Torie Garner tossed the final two frames and allowed one hit while striking out two.

-After Miles grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first, the Chargers responded with six in the bottom frame before eight straight reached and scored in the second to give the hosts a 14-2 lead.
