HUNTSVILLE | On a day that began by celebrating
Sarah Stearman in her final home match as a Charger, The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team defeated visiting West Georgia 6-0 in a contest that was moved to Athletic Club Alabama due to inclement weather. The Chargers improve to 10-9 (5-5 Gulf South Conference) with the win, while UWG slips to 7-10 (2-8 GSC).

Â-Stearman was honored prior to the match and then went out and picked up her team-leading 13th win in doubles before earning her eighth win of the season in singles play.
-The duo of Stearman and Lopez are a team-best 11-3 on the season, and with their third straight win, they improved to 5-1 in conference play.
-Bauzhanova and Thomas have won four consecutive as a pairing and improved to 3-1 against GSC opponents.
-Thomas is now a team-high 13-6 on the season with six wins in GSC play, and she extends her winning streak to six.
-Mehlich has won five in a row in moving to 11-5 on the year with each of those matches coming at the No. 1.
-Also winning five straight is Kirchtag who matches Mehlich with 11 wins including an 8-1 record at fifth position.

-The Chargers will head to Livingston on Sunday morning to face West Alabama in a match that was postponed from Thursday. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.
