UAH Again Hangs Tough with Ranked Opponent in 1-0 Setback at No. 20 Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. | For a second straight contest, The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team battled a nationally-ranked opponent to the end, but No. 20 Lynn used a 90th-minute goal to win 1-0 over the Chargers on Friday night. UAH slips to 0-2-0 with the setback, while the Fighting Knights improve to 3-0-0.
 
Turning Point
-With the game seemingly destined for overtime, Lukas Hombach's free kick with just seconds remaining in regulation found the back of the net to create the 1-0 final.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Lynn outshot the Chargers by a 9-3 margin overall and also held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.
-Rafa Moreno led the visitors with a pair of shots including one that was on frame, while the other shot on target came from Michael Weston.
-Simon Voss logged three saves in taking the loss in goal for UAH.
-Lynn built up an 11-2 advantage in corners in the game.
-A total of 36 fouls were whistled in the contest.
 
Noteworthy
-Moreno leads UAH with five shots on the season, and he has led the team in attempts in both of the first two games to start the year.
-This is the first time UAH has played back-to-back nationally-ranked opponents since Sept. 3 and Sept. 8 of the 2017 season.
