ANCHORAGE, Alaska | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team slipped in Friday night's Western Collegiate Hockey Association series opener at Alaska Anchorage by a final score of 5-1 at the Brush Christiansen Hockey Center. UAH dips to 1-19-3 (1-15-3 WCHA), while UAA improves to 4-14-3 (4-11-2 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
- The Seawolves scored three unanswered goals in the first period for an early 3-0 advantage, as the hosts went on to win 5-1 over the Chargers.
 
Scoring Breakdown
- Alaska Anchorage was first on the board with a marker by Nick Wicks at 5:28 of the opening period, as the Seawolves added two more goals in the period by Trey deGraaf at 8:41 and Zach Nazzarett at 14:59 for a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
