UAH Slips in Series Opener on Friday vs. Michigan Tech

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 4-1 on Friday night at the Von Braun Center to visiting Michigan Tech in the opening game of a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. UAH dips to 1-20-4 (1-14-4 WCHA), while MTU improves to 15-12-3 (10-9-2 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
- The Huskies scored four unanswered goals in the third period to take the opener 4-1 over the Chargers on Friday night.
 
Scoring Breakdown
- Following a scoreless opening period, the Chargers went first on the board at 8:27 of the second when Daneel Lategan slapped in a loose puck in front of the crease on a rush with Liam Izyk. Both Izyk and Bauer Neudecker notched assists on the play.
- Michigan Tech went on to tie the game at 4:21 of the third on Raymond Brice's tally, before taking the lead at 5:46 of the final period on a goal by Parker Saretsky.
- The Huskies added two more goals in the third period by Brian Halonen on the power play at 9:26 and Logan Pietila at 14:32 to bring the game to its 4-1 final score.
