For the first time in league history, the Gulf South Conference will provide live video coverage of the GSC Cross Country Championships. The live stream will be run by JockJive Sports and will feature a full HD production. There will be a total of six cameras covering the races and a team of three broadcasters to break down all of the action.
Â
Longtime GSC broadcaster Don Russell will serve as the lead voice for the meet. Russell first joined the league in 2005 with the creation of the GSC Football Games of the Week, and he continued in that role through the 2019 season. In addition to football, Russell has broadcasted multiple GSC Championships, including basketball, soccer, and softball.
Â
A pair of former UAH Chargers, Sean Allan and Blaise Binns, will join Russell for analysis. Allan was a two-time captain for the UAH cross country team. In 2007, Allan and the Chargers won the GSC Championship, finished second at the regional, and advanced to the NCAA Championship. Binns, one of the most accomplished runners in league history, was the GSC Individual Champion twice in his career (2012 and 2013), and he won the 2012 NCAA South Regional Individual Championship. Led by Binns, the Chargers won three straight conference titles from 2011 to 2013. This summer, Binns was named First Team GSC All-Decade.
