MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team opened up the spring season on Friday, falling in a close 4-3 contest to UT Tyler in a neutral site contest played in Montgomery. The Chargers fall to 0-1 on the season, while UTT improves to 2-3.

-Mehlich starts the season 1-0 in singles play, looking to build off a strong sophomore campaign in which she paced the squad with a 12-5 record in singles action a year ago.
-Porter Lucas picks up a singles victory in her spring collegiate debut.
-Kirchtag picks up where she left off last year in doubles action as she posted 10 victories last year.
