Chargers Hang Tough with No. 3 West Florida

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's tennis team opened up conference play on Sunday with a tough opponent, battling to a 5-2 decision with visiting No. 3 West Florida at Athletic Club Alabama. UWF improves to 4-1 (3-0 Gulf South Conference), while the Chargers slip to 0-2 (0-1 GSC).

-Wedel went toe-to-toe with one of the nation's top players, forcing three tough sets with Division II's 11th-ranked singles player in Bojadiev.
-Nutz improves to 2-0 on the season in singles play.
-Osmond earns a win in his first-ever collegiate spring singles contest.
-The two points taken from West Florida represent the most by the Chargers against the national power since the GSC tournament in April of 2013.
 
Next Time Out
-The Chargers will be back at it on Saturday when Bellarmine visits. The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start at Athletic Club Alabama.
