HUNTSVILLE | The No. 20 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team split its final day at the 2021 Charger Chillout, falling 13-9 to Union before beating Miles 12-3 in five innings. The Chargers move to 3-1 on the season.

-After Union went ahead 3-0 in the first, Nutt immediately pulled the Chargers back within one as she singled in a pair in the bottom half of the opening inning to make it 3-2.
-The Bulldogs pushed another across in the second to go ahead by a pair, but a Malone sacrifice in the second and another RBI single from Nutt in the third allowed Booker's two-run homer to put the Chargers ahead 6-4.
-Union would tie it back up in the fifth with a pair of runs and then had the big sixth to go back in front by a 12-6 score.
-Booker and Akles would both single in a run in the sixth before the Bulldogs scored their 13th and
Kaylee Vaught drove in a run in the seventh to produce the 13-9 final.

-A couple of runs in the top of the third pulled Miles back within five at 8-3, but a run would score when Vaught reached on an error in the third, and UAH would end the game with an RBI single from Mallard and a two-run single from Phillips in the fifth to create the 12-3 final.
