MEMPHIS | The No. 14 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep of host Christian Brothers on Saturday, winning 6-4 in the opener before needing nine innings to outlast the Lady Buccaneers 12-9 in the nightcap. UAH is now 11-3 (6-2 Gulf South Conference) on the season, while CBU falls to 1-9 (1-7 GSC).

Shelby Booker would have a sac fly before both Nutt and Hampton doubled in a run to push the Chargers in front 5-1, and an RBI single up the middle off the bat of Young in the sixth created a 6-1 cushion for the Blue and White.

Grace O'Berry got out of a bases-loaded jam to end the game and give UAH the victory.

-Christian Brothers claimed an early 1-0 lead, and the game stayed that way until the fourth when an error allowed Vaught to score to tie the game before Booker singled in a run and Nutt doubled to drive in another to push the Chargers in front 3-1.
-The lead would be short-lived, however, as the Lady Bucs scored three times in the fourth to go back ahead 4-3.
-A two-run homer for Cornell would start what would be a five-run sixth for the Chargers as other scoring plays in the inning would include Booker scoring on a passed ball, Vaught driving in Nutt on a sac fly, and
Reagan Malone singling in Hampton to give UAH an 8-5 lead.
-The hosts had a solo homer and a two-run jack in the bottom of the sixth to pull back within one, and then a two-out home run in the bottom of the seventh tied the game up at 8-8.

Peyton Perkins scoring on an error for the Chargers before CBU got another two-out run in the home frame to send the game to the ninth deadlocked at 9-9.
-Young would single in the eventual game-winning run in the top of the ninth on a play that saw an error allow another run to score, and Vaught would single up the middle to plate the final run of the game to create the 12-9 final as Akles worked around a two-out walk in the bottom of the ninth.
