OXFORD, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team was eliminated from the 2021 Gulf South Conference Softball Championship tournament on Friday, as the third-seeded Chargers fell to fifth-seeded West Georgia 8-0. UAH slips to 31-12, while UWG improves to 25-15.

UAH will now await word of its NCAA tournament fate with the selection show set to air on Sunday, May 16.

Morgan Green held UAH without a hit for the first five innings as she struck out 10 and allowed just one UAH hit before Lexi Close pitched the final 1.2 innings.

UAH did draw five walks in the game, including four from Green, with
Shelby Booker earning a team-best two free passes, and Booker also had the team's only hit in the contest.

The Wolves opened the game strong with Cassie Henderson hitting a three-run home run in the top of the first, and in the top of the third, a sac bunt from Hannah Scarbrough pushed in another run to make it 4-0.

West Georgia then scored twice in the fifth and once in each of the sixth and seventh innings to create the 8-0 final.

Grace O'Berry was charged with the loss for UAH in the circle.
