UAH Cruises Past Converse in Three-Set Victory Thursday

ANDERSON, S.C. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team opened the week's slate with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-12) victory over Converse on Thursday afternoon as part of the Anderson Invitational. UAH improves to 3-2, while CC slides to 1-2.

Gracie McGee led the Chargers effort overall with a team-high eight kills while also tying with Shayla Libby for the team lead in digs with 10.

Kiara Hill rated second on the squad with six kills to go along with a team-best .444 hitting percentage, and she was followed by Paris Morris, Caroline Moyer and Zoe Smith with four successful swats apiece.

Colby Charland helped guide the offense with a team-high 18 assists to go along with six digs.

The Chargers started the contest off in dominant fashion with a 25-12 win in the opening set, as the squad notched a pair of six-point rallies to lead to the early win.

UAH withheld a late push from Converse in the second frame to win 25-22, with the Blue & White scoring three of the final four points in the stanza.

The match ended just as it started with the Chargers topping the Valkyries 25-12 in the third to seal the three-set victory, thanks to a late six-point run that extended the UAH lead to 11 at the time.

UAH looks ahead to a pair of matchups at the Anderson Invitational tomorrow against Texas A&M International at 8 a.m. CT and Catawba at 2:30 p.m. CT.
