HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team finishes up a three-match home stretch when they host Gulf South Conference foe Shorter on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
UAH improved to 8-4 (4-1 GSC) overall after going 2-0 against West Georgia and Valdosta State on Friday and Saturday. The Chargers defeated the Wolves 3-0 and the Blazers 3-1.
The Chargers are winners of seven of their last eight matches.
This season, the Chargers rank third in the GSC with 2.27 blocks per set, with
Mary Grace Bundrant holding the highest blocks per set total in the conference at 1.25.
Savannah Rutledge leads the GSC with 9.53 assists per set this year, with the next highest total being 7.89.
Caroline Moyer compiled 37 kills over the past week with a 3.36 kills per set average and a .196 hitting percentage.
Shorter visits Huntsville's Team holding a 3-9 (0-5 GSC) overall record for the season. The last matchup between the two teams was on Sept. 15 when the Chargers swept the Hawks in three sets.
Shorter is led by Victoria Sparks in kills as she has posted 75 total kills with a 2.68 kills per set average. Claudia Loyola leads the Hawks in digs with a 4.03 digs per set average.
The Chargers will head back on the road this weekend as they visit No. 16 West Florida on Friday and Auburn Montgomery on Saturday.
