COLUMBUS, Ga. | The No. 17 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team continued play at the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic with an 11-2 win over Northern State in five innings followed by a 1-0 victory over Carson-Newman that featured the program's 28th no-hitter. UAH improves to 13-3 with the two wins on Saturday.

The Chargers rallied for six runs in the bottom of the first and would not look back on the way to the 11-2 win in five innings over Northern State.

UAH notched eight hits in the contest, led by
Lawren Hayes and
Maddie Cartron who both went 2-for-3 in the first game on Saturday. Hayes additionally had two RBI with one of her two hits going for a triple.

Sadie Thompson reached base in all three of her plate appearances with three walks on the day, and she also led the squad with three runs scored.

Maddie Tankersley earned the win in the circle for the Chargers, as she turned in 5.0 innings with two runs allowed and eight strikeouts. She improves to 2-0 on the season with the win.

Katie Bracken hurled the 28th no-hitter in program history to lead UAH to the 1-0 victory over Carson-Newman to wrap up Saturday's action, as the freshman posted 7.0 hitless innings with nine strikeouts.

So far at the NFCA D2 Leadoff Classic, Bracken has worked 14.0 innings with just three hits allowed and 21 strikeouts to lower her season ERA to 0.54.

The Chargers additionally won the game in walk-off fashion with the lone run of the game coming off
Alexa Douthitt's RBI single to center in the bottom of the seventh to score
Jada Henderson. Henderson led the offense with two base hits in the victory.
