VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. | The No. 24 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's track & field teams wrapped up action at the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with Michael Gizzi finishing in the top six of two events.
 
A native of Covington, Georgia, Gizzi started the day with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.75, followed by a fifth-place standing in the 200-meter race at a time of 21.01.
 
His time of 21.01 in 200 meters tops the program record of 21.14, which Gizzi set at the GSC Indoor Championships last month.
 
Gizzi and the Chargers now look ahead to the start of the 2023 outdoor campaign next Friday and Saturday at the Montevallo Falcon Classic.
