HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team opened Gulf South Conference play on Sunday afternoon with a 12-9 victory over Lander at Charger Park. UAH moves to 5-7 (1-0 GSC) while the Bearcats move to 6-5 (1-1 GSC).

Isadora Springer led the Chargers with four goals on the afternoon and
Chloe Wood rated second-best for the Chargers with three goals.Â

Today's victory was the seventh time this season that Springer has scored three or more goals in a game and marks Wood's seventh multi-goal game.

Sarah Cole,
Katie Gerber, and
Chloe Wood each netted two goals in the contest and
Maya Bronson chipped in a goal of her own to round out the Blue & White goal scorers.

On the defensive side,
Cameron Crews caused a team-high four turnovers and
Riley Kirby collected five ground balls. The Chargers caused 20 turnovers from the Bearcats in the affair.

Shaina Doser played the entirety of the contest in between the pipes for UAH making seven saves. Her season record moves to 1-4.

The Chargers will be back in action to host Young Harris at Charger Park on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
