MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH men's soccer team dropped Sunday's Gulf South Conference matchup at Montevallo by a final score of 3-1. UAH slides to 1-4-3 (0-3-1 GSC), while UM improves to 5-2-2 (3-1-0 GSC).

Justin Alcantara – a Madison, Alabama, native – scored the first goal of the game in the 19th minute for the Chargers off an assist by Stellios Staraki, but Montevallo rebounded to score goals in the 34th, 79th and 88th minute to hand UAH a 3-1 loss on Sunday.

The Chargers generated four corner kicks in the matchup as well as eight shots on goal, led by
Tomas Peral with two shots on target.

Sonny Wright played the full time in goal for the Chargers, allowing three goals and picking up four saves against the Warhawks. Wright was aided defensively by 90-minute performances by Alcantara,
Wesley Atoyebi and
Harvey Hewson.

UAH returns home next weekend for GSC matches at Charger Park against Christian Brothers on Friday and Union on Sunday.
