CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. | The UAH women's lacrosse team won a neutral site matchup with Ashland on Saturday by a score of 20-8, tying their highest goal total of the season. The Chargers improved to 4-2 overall with the victory, while Ashland fell to 2-3.
After taking a 1-0 lead with just under 11 minutes left in the first quarter, Ashland went ahead 3-1 before UAH went on a tear, scoring nine straight goals. The Chargers outscored the Eagles 17-5 in the final three quarters of the match.
Six Chargers had three or more points in the contest, with
Kourtney Bauroth and
Sarah Cole leading the way with five points each.
Bauroth led the team in goals, notching five on the day, while Cole had four.
Ava Fudjinski and
Noelle Coleman contributed a pair of goals each.
Maya Bronson and
Riley Kirby each hauled in five ground balls, while Kirby caused a team high seven turnovers.
Talitha Goodman had four draw controls to lead the way for UAH.
UAH held the edge over Ashland in shots (34-15) and ground balls (23-13).
The Chargers have a quick turnaround for another matchup tomorrow as they play Thomas More at 11 AM.
