HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators announced the 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams on Tuesday, and UAH was represented in District 5 by Tommy Murr and Daniel Saylor on the men's side as well as Madie Krieger and Bellah Machen from the women's squad.
 
All four UAH student-athletes earned CSC Academic All-District for the first time in their careers.
 
Murr led the Chargers offense with 16.6 points per game and was a Second Team All-GSC selection, while Saylor posted 10.2 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
 
Both Krieger and Machen were in the top four for minutes played for the Chargers this season, with Machen also rating second on the squad with 10.0 points per game.
 
District 5 is composed of institutions from the Gulf South Conference, Sunshine State Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and voting is conducted by the region's athletics communications professionals who are members of CSC.
 
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced April 16 (women) and April 17 (men).
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
