UAH Women’s Basketball Opens Season at DII CCA Tip-Off Classic in Texas

11/6/2025 2:01:00 PM

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH women's basketball team opens the 2025-26 season this weekend at the Division II CCA Tip-Off Classic, held at Kitty Magee Arena on the campus of Texas Woman's University.

The Chargers will face No. 18 Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. CT, before wrapping up the weekend against Wayne State on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 3:30 p.m. CT.

UAH enters the new campaign coming off a historic 2024-25 season in which the Chargers posted a 25-7 record — the most wins by the program in its NCAA era. The 25 victories were also the most by a UAH women's team since the 1982-83 squad recorded 27. Under head coach Allen Sharpe, the Chargers returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2019-20 season.

Two Chargers earned preseason honors heading into the 2025-26 season, as guards Millie Brown and reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Year Lilli Wilken were both named to the All-GSC Preseason Team. Brown, a Nashville native, returns after ranking among the GSC's top shooters last season, while Wilken, from Nolensville, Tenn., looks to build on a campaign that saw her average 18 points per game and rank among the top scorers in program history.

Following the Tip-Off Classic, the Chargers will continue their road stretch with three more nonconference games before hosting their home opener Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 5:30 p.m. inside SportsMED Arena at Spragins Hall.
