DENTON, Texas | The UAH women's basketball team wrapped up play at the Division II CCA Tip-Off Classic on Saturday, falling 83-76 to Wayne State in a competitive matchup at Kitty Magee Arena.

The Chargers trailed for much of the contest, facing a 45-33 deficit at halftime, but fought back in the second half to narrow the margin before ultimately coming up short.

Lili Wilken led UAH in scoring with 17 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. Bella White also shot 50 percent and added 15 points, while Lindsey Garner provided a spark off the bench with 13 points. Paris Opelt paced the Chargers on the glass, pulling down a team-high nine rebounds.

With the loss, UAH moves to 1-1 on the season following Friday's win over No. 18 Southwest Minnesota State.

The Chargers will continue their road trip next weekend, traveling to Cleveland, Tenn., to compete in the Gulf South Conference–Sunshine State Conference Challenge. UAH will face No. 23 Tampa on Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., and Florida Southern on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m.
