CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The UAH softball team split a doubleheader at Lee on Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action with a 7-5 loss followed by a 6-3 victory. UAH moves to 10-7 (4-1 GSC), while LU's record now stands at 8-4 (1-3 GSC).
 
The Chargers and Flames wrap up the three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
 
Game One: Lee 7, UAH 5
UAH took a 4-3 lead with a four-run rally in the top of the fourth, before Lee responded with a four-run rally in the bottom half of the inning that carried the hosts to the 7-5 win on Saturday.
 
Maddie Cartron guided the Chargers offense in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, as her day was highlighted by a solo homer in the fourth inning. She finished the game with a team-high two runs and two RBI, while hitting her third home run of the season.
 
Megan Shurtz worked 6.0 innings for the Chargers with five earned runs allowed and three strikeouts. Her record slides to 5-4 with the loss.
 
Game Two: UAH 6, LEE 3
The Chargers offense started strong with six runs over the first three innings in game two on Saturday, which guided UAH to the 6-3 win to split the doubleheader at Lee.
 
Katie Bracken additionally had a successful outing in the circle for the Blue & White, tossing the full 7.0 innings with three runs allowed and six strikeouts. Her record rises to 4-3 with the win.
 
UAH recorded a total of 12 hits as a team, led by 
Alexa Douthitt, 
Lawren Hayes, 
Kylee Smith and 
Sadie Thompson with two-hit performances each. Smith additionally led UAH with two RBI in the win.
 
Two of UAH's 12 base hits went for extra bases, as 
McKamey Bratcher and Cartron both notched doubles against the Flames.
