HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's lacrosse team dropped Sunday's matchup at Charger Park to visiting Lynn by a final score of 21-17. UAH slides to 1-2, while LU improves to 2-0.

UAH opened the first quarter outpacing Lynn 7-4, but the Fighting Knights would rebound to tie the game 11-11 at halftime. The visitors went on to lead the Chargers in the second half by a margin of 10-6 to win it 21-17 on Sunday.

Freshman
Ella Rutherford had an outstanding overall performance in the nonconference tilt, as he posted a team-high five goals, two assists, six ground ball and seven draw controls.

Sarah Cole rated second on the UAH offense with five points on three goals and two assists, while also accruing two ground balls, two caused turnovers and five draw controls.

Maddi Lieflander tied with Cole for the team lead in caused turnovers with two of her own, with
Lauren Pfleger rating third on the Chargers with four draw controls.

UAH's offense also featured two-goal games by both
Reagan Flanagan and
Kaylie Charters.

Farrah Westfall played the majority of time in goal for UAH, posting six saves and 16 goals allowed in her 37 minutes in the cage.

UAH and Lynn tied with 20 draw controls apiece as a team, while the Chargers held the edge on ground balls 27-23.

The Chargers look ahead to their first road trip of the season next Saturday to Cleveland, Tennessee, to take on Wingate in a neutral-site, nonconference matchup.
