Baseball Celebrates Senior Day, Drops Season Finale Against West Alabama

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball dropped a pair of Gulf South Conference games on Saturday to West Alabama at Charger Park 8-1 in a 14 inning game one and 1-0 in game two. The series against the Tigers was the final series of the season for the Chargers.

The Chargers finished the season at 19-29 (9-24 GSC), while the Tigers improved to 27-22 (18-15 GSC) to end the regular season. 

G1: UWA 8, UAH 1 (14 inn.)

In game one, both starting pitchers put together outstanding outings, with Jacob Peters finishing six innings on the mound for the Chargers after surrendering just one earned run in his final outing as a member of the UAH baseball team. 

Senior Ty Hutto relieved Peters and threw 7.1 innings out of the bullpen and continued to hold the Tigers scoreless till the 14th inning. 

The Chargers had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 13th inning, but were unable to push any runs across. UWA scored seven in the following half inning to take the win.

Jackson Lindsey and Ramie Harrison led the Chargers at the plate, each with 2-for-5 performances. Lindsey had one RBI in the game. 

G2: UWA 1, UAH 0

Cory Hagood threw 6.2 innings in his final start as a Charger and gave up just four hits and one earned run on the mound. The Chargers were unable to push any runs across the plate in the second game of the doubleheader, despite out-hitting the Tigers 6-to-4. 

Brodee Bartlett led the way for UAH at the plate with a 3-for-3 outing with a double. Additionally, Will Noles, Ian Reagan, and Harrison each contributed a hit apiece.
