OXFORD, Ala. | The fourth-seeded UAH softball team's matchup with second-seeded West Florida at the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championships has been postponed to Saturday at 6 p.m. due to rain in the region, after the Chargers defeated Montevallo earlier on Friday by a score of 5-1 to advance at the GSC tournament.

After Montevallo took the first lead with one run in the first, UAH registered a three-run top of the second – highlighted by a two-RBI single by
Brittany Slaten – that propelled the Chargers to the 5-1 victory.

Slaten finished the contest with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with a team-high two RBI, with
Jill Cockrell also going for a multi-hit performance in a 2-for-3 day at the plate with one run scored.

Sadie Thompson and
Gracie Ashley helped the Chargers offense as both players registered one run, one hit and one RBI against the Falcons.

Megan Shurtz dominated in the circle for UAH on Friday, tossing a complete game with one run allowed and three strikeouts. Her record rises to 14-8 with the win.
