MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH women's soccer team came up short 2-0 on the road Saturday night in Montevallo. With the result, the Chargers move to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in Gulf South Conference play, while the Falcons improve to 5-2-0 and remain unbeaten in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, Montevallo struck quickly in the second period. Ayla Ertekin opened the scoring in the 54th minute, followed less than a minute later by Lainey Farabaugh, giving the Falcons a two-goal lead they carried to the final whistle.
UAH totaled eight shots in the match, with two on goal. Michella Tortelli and Katey Ann Klingel each recorded a shot on target to pace the Chargers' attack.
The Chargers are back in action at Charger Park on Friday at 5 p.m. against the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery.
