HARROGATE, Tenn. | The UAH women's lacrosse dominated on the road Wednesday, rolling to a 16-1 victory over Lincoln Memorial University women's lacrosse to improve to 2-2 on the season.
The Chargers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter with goals from Ella Rutherford, Reagan Flanagan, and Olivia Rewers. Lincoln Memorial got on the board late in the quarter with a goal from Jaiden Jaynes, but UAH's offense quickly took control in the second quarter, outscoring the hosts 7-0.
Sarah Cole led the surge with three goals, while Ava Fudjinski, Meghan Doody, and Kylie Flathers also found the back of the net. The Chargers maintained momentum in the third quarter, scoring five more times on goals from Megan Robertson, Rewers, and Cole, with Flanagan and Rewers adding additional scores. Reagan Flanagan capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with her fourth goal of the night.
Brooke Denny and Farrah Westfall split time in goal for UAH, combining for three saves while allowing just one goal. Denny had one save in the first 30 minutes, and Westfall added two saves in the final 30 minutes to secure the 16-1 win.
The Chargers dominated in every category. UAH outshot Lincoln Memorial 29 to 13, including 23 shots on goal compared to three for the Railsplitters. They also won the draw control battle 12 to 7 and collected 23 ground balls to Lincoln Memorial's 14. UAH forced 25 turnovers, and converted 15 of 19 clears compared to 9 of 19 for Lincoln Memorial.
The Chargers will look to carry their momentum into their next game against Florida Southern at Charger Park on Thursday, February 19 at 7 p.m.
