HUNTSVILLE | The No. 24 UAH women's lacrosse team hosted their first home match of the season on Thursday evening in a non-conference matchup against No. 4 Florida Southern and fell to the Mocs 12-8 at Charger Park.
The Chargers fell to 2-3 on the year with the loss, while Florida Southern is now 3-0 to start the 2026 campaign.
FSC took a 5-1 lead in the first quarter of the match that ultimately was the deciding gap between the teams as the Chargers and Mocs would match each other in goals scored in the final three quarters.
Maya Bronson and
Ella Rutherford each totaled a pair of points for the Blue & White to lead the team, with Bronson netting two goals and Rutherford scoring once and adding one assist.
Olivia Rewers was active on the defensive end as she caused four turnovers and hauled in seven ground balls for the Chargers.
Sarah Cole and
Sydney Schiavone would also add four ground balls.
Next up for the Chargers is a match at John Hunt Park in Huntsville on Sunday at noon.
